Cal North State Cup is the state-level qualifier for the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series. It is the cup competition created for the top-level Competitive teams. Although any qualified team may apply for State Cup, there may be other cup products that better fit a team’s needs. We recommend only top tier competitive teams apply for State Cup. Cal North State Cup the only event in the Cal North Cup Series that is available to teams that participate in California Regional League, US Youth Soccer National League, and/or in any Premier division in league play. The Cal North State Cup hosts brackets in the U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, U18 and U19 age groups.

Level of Play:
State Cup is recommended for the top level competitive teams within their club or league.
All eligible registered teams must meet the following criteria
- Must play in an approved league with at least three other teams and play at least a game against three different teams at least once.
- Must be registered with Cal North in order to be accepted to play in State Cup
Playing League Requirement:
Participation in a non-Cal North playing league such as NorCal Premier, ECNL, NPL, or other playing league sanctioned by a US Soccer organization where the team plays against at least three other teams will fulfill the requirement necessary to participate in Cal North State Cup however the players, team administrators and the team must register with Cal North and have Cal North credentials in order to be accepted. Simply stated, a team’s qualifying playing league does not need to be a Cal North playing league but they must have Cal North credentials to participate in State Cup. To obtain your Cal North credentials to participate in our cups check first with your local league registrar on how to best obtain credentials. If your local league and district notify you that they are unable or unwilling to register your players and team, please contact Emanuel Lusca, the Cal North Registration Manager at email@example.com to get information on how to proceed with registering through one of the existing Commissioners’ Leagues.

*We have three weekends designated for State Cup. The schedule will ultimately depend on the number of applicants and the available venues. If competition can be completed over the course of two weekends, we will schedule accordingly. Games will be scheduled on April 27-28 or May 4-5, 2019 only in case of rain out or if the schedule necessitates additional dates.

Cal North State Cup is the qualifier for US Youth Soccer National Championship Series. State Cup Champions that participated as a Cal North registered team, CRL Champions, and in some instances a team that is selected to fill a wildcard slot will advance to compete for a regional championship at the US Youth Soccer West Region Championships (Far West Regionals) in Boise, Idaho Monday, June 17-Sunday June 23, 2019
