$25,000 Raised for Northern California Fire Relief
PLEASANTON, Calif. – Cal North is honored to present the United Way of the Wine Country a check for $25,000 to help support the North Bay Fire Relief Effort.
“The Cal North Soccer Community is made up of families, neighbors, and friends. As this tragedy was unfolding, our soccer community came together to help,” said Cal North Executive Director, Matthew Madeira. “With the help of our local leagues, clubs, parents, players, and coaches we were able to raise $25,000. We sincerely appreciate everyone’s contributions whether financial or simply sharing our fundraiser with friends and families.”
Funds will be distributed through United Way of the Wine Country for immediate direct victim relief, cleanup, and rebuilding the region.
“United Way of the Wine Country is extremely grateful for the fire relief donation from Cal North Soccer and its supporters. We thank you on behalf of the thousands of individuals and families who were affected by the fires and who have been able to receive much-needed funds to help them toward the path of recovery,” said Rusty Smith, United Way of the Wine Country VP of Resource Development and Marketing.
United Way of the Wine Country is working directly with fire victims to distribute funds. Relief will be disbursed in the form of cash grants after family and individual relief assistance applications are reviewed and approved by a volunteer committee.
If you have not yet contributed to the relief effort, it’s not too late. Please make sure to visit United Way of the Wine Country’s website for more info.
