UPDATED: March 17, 2020

Following recommendations from US Youth Soccer and US Soccer, heightened travel concerns, and with the health and welfare of our soccer community in mind, Cal North suspended all soccer activities and sanctioned events immediately through April 15, 2020.

This included all league games, practices, friendlies, clinics, and any other activities that would cause our players, families, officials and staff to gather in close proximity.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: The suspension of all Cal North soccer activities and sanctioned events runs through April 15, 2020. If any Cal North member club/team conducts a practice during the suspension period, that member club/team’s activity is not insured under the liability insurance policy since it is not a sanctioned Cal North activity.

We will keep you informed of any changes as more information develops. We thank you for keeping our kids safe.

(Pleasanton, CA, March 12, 2020)

The Cal North Board of Directors has closely monitored information from Governor Newsom, State and local county health officials, and the CDC regarding the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Following today’s recommendations from US Youth Soccer and US Soccer, heightened travel concerns, and with the health and welfare of our soccer community in mind, Cal North is suspending all soccer activities and sanctioned events beginning immediately through April 15, 2020.

This includes all league games, practices, friendlies, clinics, and any other activities that would cause our players, families, officials and staff to gather in close proximity. The suspension includes the postponement of the upcoming Cal North State Cup, Presidents Cup and CRL events that were originally scheduled for March 21, 22, and April 4 and 5, 2020.

The Board understands that this is an unprecedented action, and it is not one that we would take without considerable thought. With the ongoing acceleration of the Coronavirus cases in communities from which our soccer families reside, the Board takes this action in the interest of ensuring the health and safety of the soccer community, as well as that of the community-at-large.

We continue to assess the situation daily and we will update our leagues and clubs as more details become available. We would like to thank our Cal North family for your ongoing support as we manage our programming given the current health and travel environment. The safety and security of our soccer community is, and always will be, our highest priority.
