Jack Salvemini served as founding member and longtime volunteer for the Sunnyvale Youth Soccer League, CYSA tournament director for several events, and longtime Orchard Valley Youth Soccer League official, as well as filling in as a coach and referee when needed.
Jack credits his Cal North Hall of Fame recognition to his wife Andrea, Cal North North Hall of Fame inductee Class of 2004, by stating the following:
"I wouldn’t have been able to do anything without her,” he said. “I’d like to take credit for it but the truth is she did a lot of it. She’s been my right-hand person. It was a family thing and we all shared the opportunity. We should have been in (the Hall of Fame) together.”
Andrea & Jack Salvemini, where heavily involved with the Orchard Valley Youth Soccer League and created a legacy that includes not only successful soccer programs but also a soccer-immersed family. Their son, Mike, is a longtime OVYSL coach who also coached at St. Francis High in Mountain View and led the Lancer boys’ varsity to successful playoff seasons. All five of their grandchildren played in the Orchard Valley Youth Soccer League.
