Marino was born in Italy and came to the US in 1932.
Marino graduated from San Jose State and received his Master's Degree from Stanford. He taught in the Sequoia High School District for 37 years.
His greatest passion after family was the sport of soccer. He was a player (SFAC), in San Francisco), coach (Sequoia High School District) and in 1952 alternate goalie for the U.S. Olympic team. He was co-founder of the Juventus Soccer Club on the Peninsula.
Marino Mangiola, 91, passed away on December 11, 2015.
