Volunteers Utilizing USSF Learning Center - Only Complete SafeSport & Intro to Safety

Written by Cal North Soccer | Jul 10, 2024 12:26:11 AM

Dear Cal North Soccer Members,

In our continuous effort to provide top-level service and ensure the safety and well-being of our members, we are pleased to announce that we have initiated discussions with the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) Safe Soccer Clearance program. Our goal is to develop a collaborative approach to enhance our risk management protocols.

Currently, the USSF Safe Soccer Clearance program offers a background check through their learning center. However, at this time, this specific background check is not applicable to Cal North volunteers.

To align with the best practices and guidelines, we advise our volunteers to complete only "Phase 1" of the Safe Soccer Clearance program, which includes the SafeSport and Intro to Safety training. "Phase 2" is an optional learning opportunity regarding Positive Soccer Environments and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging. Finally, "Phase 3," which encompasses the USSF background check, is NOT required for our members at this time.

Reminder that the following are the four requirements Cal North requires each volunteer to complete prior to each season:
